High school students preparing to enter architecture or design school are encouraged to apply to this week-long intensive design program.

High School Residency:

Studio 2 is designed to assist students aged 17 years or older in their preparation for admission to an architecture or design school. During the seven-day intensive skill building program, students will develop a strong portfolio of creative work. This course is led by a licensed architect and educator who will guide studio explorations that are comparable to a first-year studio foundation class, which is a typical requirement in undergraduate programs in architecture, design, and visual art. Students will enjoy expanded access to Fallingwater and opportunities for reflective writing and sketching from observation. In the studio, students will be challenged to reflect and respond further, using both 2-D and 3-D media. Students will create up to three portfolio-worthy pieces during this week-long intensive. They will develop a foundation of studio skills and be challenged to respond critically and collaboratively with peers and professional architects.

Students applying to this program will need to communicate through their application materials an existing base of skills in one or more artistic media. Tuition is $1,500 and applications are due by June 1, 2019.
